Celebrating 37 years

I just wanted to congratulate my in-laws on their 37 years of marriage. I know they have had some difficult times just like every one else, but their love has stood the test of time. My mother-in-law would die if I posted a picture of them, so I am just going to leave things peacefully. :) I cooked supper for the immediate family on Sunday night to celebrate their anniversary. We had spinach and artichoke dip, chicken, corn and rice casserole, grn. beans, potato salad, dressed eggs, salad, tator tots (for the kids) and rolls. Bethany made a Butterfinger Cake for dessert.
Thank you for setting an example to all that know you and for being an example to your family. Thank you for all that you do for us. Best wishes and many more!!! I know one day I will be celebrating this major milestone. :)

Love this picture

This picture is about 3 years old, but it is one of my favorite pictures of my boys. I just had to share it. We were in Birmingham visiting Taulbe. He was there with his job for training. While we were there, we went to the Zoo and the Summit ( I think that is the name of the outdoor mall). We ate at the Cheesecake Factory too.

Dinner and a movie

Mary Woods and I have started a little tradition. For the past two months, we have had a dinner and movie day while our kids are at school. We watch a movie (does not matter if it is a new release or an older movie) and eat pizza. Today we watched "Win a Date With Tad Hamilton". We became friends while our older boys were in kindergarten. We started talking while waiting on our kids in the "pick-up" line at school. Our friendship has progressed over the years. We have gotten closer. This year, we started exchanging emails, presents, and going places together. I am glad that I have gotten to know Mary better over the years and have made a new friend. We have several things in common, but one thing is we are both BIG TIME ELVIS FANS!!! The only negative thing about her is, she is a TRUE BAMA FAN!!! haha Look forward to next month!

Pictures of the show

The final scene of the night....all the dancers on the stage for one last goodbye!! :) Very good show!!!!
Toni Baxton performed her two hit songs and worked the crowd.

Dancing With the Stars

On Tuesday night, Jan. 20, we hit the BIG town of Nashville and had a BLAST!! We ate supper in Franklin at the Texas Roadhouse. We all enjoyed our supper. They provide entertainment too. Some of the waitress' would line dance. It snowed a little bit on our way into Nashville, but nothing was going to keep us from seeing the show...nothing!!! Granny, me, momma are anxiously waiting for the show to begin....will it ever start?

Dancin With the Stars

Just thought I would rub it in for those of you who are fans of the HIT show Dancing With the Stars....Yes, I have tickets for the show tomorrow night. Cannot wait!! My moma, Taulbe's granny and I are hitting the BIG town of Nashville to dance the night away. Hopefully, I will return will some awesome dance moves and some terrific pictures.

We are tickled white at the Barnett house to see this unusal white stuff they call snow falling all around us!!! It is not a lot, but who cares!!! It is snowing!!! Of course, the boys are constantly looking out the windows to see this strange stuff falling from the
sky!

If they could only see what we as kids saw growing up, they would have sooo much fun. Maybe one day they will be so lucky to enjoy the "good old days"!
Well, here it goes!! My very first posting. I am sooo addicted to reading other people's blogs...why not make my very own blog. I read people's blogs that I do not even know, but I have gotten to know them through their blogs. It is an addiction just like Sun-Drop and watching soap operas.
I guess I will start out introducing myself and my family. I will try not to be too lengthy. Taulbe and I have been married for 12 1/2 years, and we have two boys. Caleb is 10 1/2 and Rylee is 6 1/2. They keep me VERY busy. I have been a stay-at-home mom for the past 11 years, and I LOVE IT!! I highly recommend it. I have a teaching degree in elementary education, and I am currently working on recertification. Both boys are in school, so that means moma has to go to work. :( We have one dog, Pepper and two cats, Oreo and Callie. We love our pets to pieces and they get lots of love and attention except from Taulbe. :) I will share pictures when I learn how to do it. Remember, I am new at this.

Things I like to do or addicted to:
  • I love to watch TV: soap operas, dramas, comedy shows, reality shows...you name it
  • I am known to have cleaning supplies in hands at all times...I have slacked up alittle on this
  • Sun-Drop...diet or regular...who cares as long as it is Sun-Drop and cold
  • Chocolate....need I say more
  • Gardening: vegetables or flowers...love being outside working and digging into the dirt
  • Family and friends: I spend most of my time of course with my boys. They are my little shadows. We go to the movies a lot, and I volunteer at their school once a week and whenever I am needed. My moma and I love to shop and go out to eat. I do a lot of things with my in-laws. My mother-in-law and I have a lot of things in common and she depends on me for lots of things.

I hope I have not bored you to death with my rambling on and on. I will try to post some pictures very soon. Check back
