1st day on the job

Well, yesterday was my 1st day as a substitute teacher at my boys' school. I finally received a call at 6:45 a.m. That is the time that I get up every morning to get two boys ready for school...well, this morning I had to get an extra person ready in that same amount of time...ME!! I am the type of person who likes to plan ahead by laying out clothes the night before and packing "my" bag for the next day. I like to be prepared. Well, I picked the wrong job for that!!! Enough about me and not being prepared. We made it to school on time. I do not know how, but we did!
I was in a classroom that I volunteer in every other week, therefore, I already knew the kids which was a major plus for my 1st day on the job. We were just getting ready for the day and it happened....one of the boys got sick!! I mean threw up around his desk and left a trail to the bathroom. What a way to start the day. The rest of the day went smoothly. The kids are out of their desks more than they are in them...constantly blowing their noses, sharpening pencils, getting water from the sink, and etc. I know the teacher lets them do that stuff, but not as often as they TRIED it with me. Finally, I had enough!! Ya know, they try to get away as much as possible with a sub. Well, not with this one!!! Listen at me. I am trying the sound so mean and tough. Oh well, it was a good day for me. Just waiting on the next call.

We finally did it!!!!

Caleb's basketball team finally won their 1st game of the season!! It was soooo exciting. Everyone was hollering and cheering the boys on to victory. Even my mother-in-law, who NEVER says anything during a game, was cheering them on. Now we go to the county tournament. CROSS YOUR FINGERS!! Of course, I did not have my camera at this game.

Sorry about the background....under construction! :)

Pass it on.....

My friend Leanne has this on her blog, and I thought I would give it a try because it sounded like fun. So this is how it works....The first 3 people to leave a comment on this will receive a gift from me during this year. When and what will be a surprise. There's a small catch of course. You have to post this on your blog then come back and leave a comment, telling me you're in. Remember, only the first 3 comments receive a gift. :)

Girls Just Wanna.....

Girls just wanna have fun of course!! The other night ( I am a little late with this posting) my niece, Sarabeth, stayed the night with us. She loves to come over and play with the boys. They have a great time together. She LOVES Rlyee to pieces and follows him everywhere. I thought it was time for the "girls" to have some fun. Sarabeth painted my fingernails and toenails. She did a pretty good job too. She wanted to pretend like she owned a shop, and I was her client. I was getting ready for a hot date, a baby shower, a wedding, a wedding shower, and the list went on and on. Then we went upstairs so she could fix my hair. I had every hairbow you could imagine in my hair at once. She sprayed water and hairspray both in my hair. Needless to say, my hair was very STIFF and was NOT going anywhere!!! (I am not sharing this picture.) Of course, we had to choose some outfits for all of my outings. We choose outfits with all the fixins...of course with high heels!!! I was ready for a night on the town when she was finished with me. She has a bright future in fashion. :)

FYI: In the family world, I am known as "Tot".

Too cold for shopping

Yesterday, my momma and I went to Bridge Street. I had to get some new jeans from Old Navy for Caleb. Well, we were the only "idiots" shopping in the cold. I thought I would never say this....it was just too cold to shop yesterday!!!! I thought there was NEVER a bad day to shop!!! Well, yesterday was the day. We went into several stores where we were the only customers. The restaurants were very busy. Bridge Street is a very beautiful shopping center, but it is a little too expensive for my pocketbook. We ate lunch at Connor's. We both enjoyed our meal, but we always enjoy our meal. There are two things that we like to do: shop and eat. For future reference: wait till it warms up to shop at Bridge Street unless it is a have to situation. :)
