Metamorphosis Monday

This is my first time joining Susan for Metamorphosis Monday. I usually check out the changes that everyone else makes, but I thought I would share one of my decorating changes this time around. This is my buffet table in the living room. This is what is looked like before Christmas.....

During Christmas, Nutcrackers standing tall without cracking a smile or nut!

Alittle rearranging....alittle grabbing things from here and there....pulling things from my closet stash of goodies waiting on their turn to be displayed

Purchased the picture about 17 years ago at a local antique store. The plate were purchased from eBay about 5 years ago.

Candelabra was in the secret closet stash (purchased about 2 yrs ago for 4 bucks at Hobby Lobby). That is me in the pic while I was still in the hospital....I have very few pics of me with my daddy. He died when I was only 4 mos old. I cherish every pic of him. :)

Mr. Loppy Ear Bunny was from W-Mart last spring. That is a "goldie oldie" of Mr. Hubby and me on our 1 st Christmas together in '96. The plate is new (half price from HL). The silhouette pic is from the secret stash from about 5 years ago. It has been waiting for just the right moment.

Picture looks great with the plate...don't you agree???

Fluer de Lis was a steal this summer at HL. I think it was about 3 bucks!!! It has been in the secret closet stash waiting for its debut. The hurricane candleholder was from Wal-Mart this summer for 10 bucks. Gotta love 1/2 price and clearance sales!!! Love how all the black pieces just flows together and the bunnies just hop right along. I never know what treasures I may find in my secret stash.

Thanks for stopping by...be sure to check out all the other great changes made by everyone else.

Foodie Friday~ Creamy Chicken Soup

Creamy Chicken Soup
4/5 boneless chicken breasts
chicken broth (I used the broth from where I boiled my chicken)
salt and pepper to taste
4/5 dashes of garlic salt
chopped onion to taste
1 oz cream cheese
egg noodles
Boil chicken. Reserve chicken broth. Add noodles, cream cheese, shredded chicken, onion, and garlic salt to broth. Return to boil. Cook until noodles are tender. Enjoy!
This soup reminds me of potato soup with a few minor adjustments! :) Super easy....super creamy....and super tasty!

Been under the weather

I have been kinda behind in everything lately.....especially taking down Christmas decor (yes I still have several things to take down) and housework. Starting the week of New Year's, I was having a lot of chest pains which I thought was indigestion. Sunday, January 3rd, I finally decided to make a trip to the ER. I had to stay two nights in the hospital. About 4 years ago, I had open heart surgery to repair a valve. While in the hospital, they checked out my heart which was OK. They thought I had a blood clot in my lung which turned out to not be the case. Finally, decided that I do have gallstones in my gallbladder (which will be taken out sometime after Feb.), a nodule in my right lung (which will have to be rechecked in 6 mos.), and acid reflux (taking medication to treat). So, this is my excuse for being behind in postings on my blog and everything else that I am behind in. Thanks goodness, we are out of school on Monday. :)

Christmas 09

The goodies that we left for Santa and his trusty reindeer and a special drawing from Rylee.
Look what Santa left for the boys....they must have been on the Nice List!!!

Taulbe's CrAzY aunts on the Barnett side....Debbie and Cellie...they are always a hoot to be around!

Wendy and me....my oldest friend of 34 years!

My moma and her "man friend" Jack

This posting is waaaay over do.....It will short and sweet! Just wanted to share a little bit about our Christmas gatherings. I cook for my moma every Christmas Eve...I have a very small family. Christmas morning, we woke up bright and early to gifts from Santa! Yippee!!! Then off we went to the in-laws for more gift giving and breakfast. About two later, off we went to Taulbe's granny's house for more food, gifts, and conversation. Taulbe's family has a long line of cousins, nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts. Needless to say, there is a crowd when we are all together. I had a short visit with my 93 year old MeMaw and my dear friend Wendy too. All of these visits were on Christmas Day......
The Saturday after Christmas, we had a Barnett family gathering at BB's house. This side of the family is large too. Somewhere in between all this, I cooked supper for the immediate Barnett clan. Yes, I know....we like ... no LOVE to eat!!!!

Winter Wreath

I wanted a wreath to decorate the front door until spring, so I made a wintery wonderland wreath. I cannot take all the credit, but I cannot give the original creator all the credit because I cannot remember whose blog it was on...SOOO SORRY!

Started off with a green pine wreath that I already had on hand. Then, I sprayed painted it with some gray primer from W-Mart and some spray snow that I bought for 70% at K-Mart. All of my accessories were purchased at K-Mart or the Dollar Store for 70%. I think I have about 5 bucks in the wreath...not bad at all!!!

Girls Just Wanna......

Have fun that is!!! The Four Musketeers together again for our annual dinner and a movie! Friends since grade school and still goin strong....Charlotte, Debbie, Me and April.
We ate at Cheddars and watch the movie Did You Hear About the Morgan's?

Charlotte, Debbie, and April....will they EVER call our name so we can eat????

April and me....cheese!!!!

Charlotte and Debbie.....cheese!!!

We have been getting together for our "girls night out" for about the past five years now. We look forward to catching up, eating good food, and catching a show! We always pick up right where we left off.....it is like we have been talking all year long! That is what you call a special friendship....one that can last through high school, moving away, children, jobs, and etc.
We have shared a lot of special almost pee wetting moments during our lifetime together. Charlotte, April and I were in the high school band together, so that meant A LOT of time together....band practices, band trips to FL, band camps, footballs. Of course, we had our moments where we would have a little spat, but of course it did not last long! Hold on to your friends.....they will always be there for you no matter what! Charlotte and I have been really close over the years. We keep in touch almost weekly....we do things together with our kiddos.....we are always there for each other no matter what. Well, enough about the mushy stuff. Bottom line....we have fun together all four of us one time a year....Need to make more often. :)

Happy 75th Birthday Elvis

To all my fellow Elvis' fans....just wanted to wish the King a Happy 75th Birthday. Spent portions of the day catching little bits of pieces of his movies and of course listening to his music.
