Foodie Friday~ Easy Broiled Tilapia

Welcome to Foodie Friday hosted by Gollum.....where we like to show off what we have been stirring up in the kitchen. Hope you will think my Broiled Tilapia is tasty...hook, line and sinker!

You will need some of these....fresh or frozen

Then, coat Tilapia with butter and then shake, shake, and shake the seasoning on

Broiled for 6 mins on each side after coating with butter and shakin on the seasoning

Drag out the pan that came with your stove....you know the one...the one you NEVER use!!! Well, now you have a reason to dust it off (preferably wash it) and get to cookin.

I served ours with homemade....yes, homemade french fries and slaw. Yum...Yum....The ENTIRE family loves this dish....the boys gobble it up!!!

Broiled Tilapia

fresh or frozen Tilapia

butter or spray butter

seasoning of your choice

Preheat oven to Broil Hi. Coat Tilapia with butter and seasoning on one side. Broil for 6 minutes. Turn over and repeat. Super easy!! Enjoy!

Homemade Slaw
cabbage

salt and pepper

diced onion

mayo

dash garlic salt

Mix together.

Just a tasseling....

Well, I thought I would join the world of tasseling. I already had the topper from a previous project...(already painted black), so I started from there. Hot glue gun...check....ribbons...check....left-over fringe...found it....check.....OK ready to tassel

Put the finishing touch by painting a "B"....now it is hanging proudly in our bedroom.

Well, since I made one....gotta make another one, right? My niece's birthday would be the perfect time to make another tassel. Same style...just different ribbons.

Well, I did spice it up alittle with the polka dots....pretty cute for a six year old.

Easter Decor~ Decorating w/ Bunnies

I am joining two very talented ladies this week.....Susan, from Between Naps on the Porch and Marty from A Stroll Thru Life. These two ladies give us a reason to play with our dishes, move things around in our home, and show off our decorating talents. Give them a round of applause!!!
I am sharing the china cabinet in our kitchen. I love to decorate and change the top of this cabinet with the holidays. Easter is not exception. We are waiting patiently for Peter Cottontail to hop right on into the Barnett home. HiPpTy HoPpTy.....

Yeap, you have seen this tree many times before....Christmas and Valentine's Day. This is a all-occasion tree.

Tabletop Tuesday~ Bunnies All Around

I am joining Marty from A Stroll Thru Life for Tabletop Tuesday and the rest of the gang because we all love the share our love for decorating. I am sharing the shelf that my MIL gave me several years ago for my birthday. It was purchased at a local antique shop. I love decorating with bunnies, and I leave most of the out all year long. Gotta love some fluffy lopped-ear bunnies. BTW....this is in the master bathroom. Never know where you might find a little bunny hopping around at the Barnett's. :)

The wall hanging was a gift from my dear friend, Wendy. It is Home Interior. The bunny planter came from Hobby Lobby a few years ago...half price of course.

The precious blue and white plate came from a wonderful jewelry/gift store that is no longer in business. They carried the most beautiful gift items. The salt and pepper shakers came from Pier 1 last year.

Mr. Bunny toting the carrots is a prize from Hobby Lobby..half price of course. So is the blue glass bunny dish. The pewter platter came from a local gift shop in town.

The photo is of Caleb for his first Easter back in '99. Notice the real bunny. All the items in the basket were gifts he received for Easter or as baby gifts.

Art Night at school

Could not find Noah's (my nephew). His class's art was tape to the wall, and I could not lift if up to find his name.
This was the Third Annual Art Night at the kiddos school. All of the students' art was displayed in the halls. Thanks Mr. T for all of your hard work.

Snowin down South on March 2

Well, It is March 2nd and spring is right around the corner. As you can see.....it is SNOWING!!! School was delayed two hours then it was cancelled. Of course, the kiddos are super excited to be at home all day (I have Noah and Sarabeth too) and to get to play in the snow. But....they do not understand that we will STILL be in school during JUNE!!!!

We attempted to make a snowman. Probably the first "BIG" one the kiddos have ever made. Rylee worked sooo hard on this little fellow. He fell over a couple of times.....I had to step in and assist. :) Pepper wishes that the snow would STOP because his fur is getting wet, and he is COLD!!!!

The birdies have flown further south this winter. Noone is at home!

The road less traveled today......everyone will be staying indoors today where it is dry and warm! Thanks a lot Mr. Goundhog for seeing your shadow on Feb. 2nd. I love the snow, but what about a white Christmas not a white March!!!!!!

Aunt Daisy and Uncle T celebrate 50 Years

February 27. 2010, We celebrated 50 years of marriage with our great aunt and uncle, Mr. & Mrs. T.L. Roper. They were surrounded by friends and family as we celebrated their union together as man and wife. A Golden Anniversary is a major milestone in a couple's life especially nowadays....they are an inspiration to all of us. Congratulations Aunt Daisy and Uncle T!!!!
