Start with fresh mushrooms.....washed of course!
Cook until very brown in color. I cook them in my Great grandmother's cast iron skillet....my grandmother is 93 years old. So, my skillet is OLD!!!!!!
Served them with homemade french fries (the only kind I cook), pasta, and hamburger steak with onions.
Sauteed Mushrooms
16 ozs fresh mushrooms
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1/4 cup butter
Wash the mushrooms and let drain. In a cast-iron skillet, melt the butter and add the remaining ingredients. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mushrooms are very brown.
Enjoy!!

I make these all the time, but I add a couple of cloves of minced garlic. I can't keep the family away from them... even the kids!
